To keep up with our goal of re-reading more of our favorite books and re-discover them we created this challenge to help accomplish that goal. We will be reading one chapter each day and also doing a blog post about the chapter, going into detail about each chapter in the book.
We decided to re-read Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead first.

Vampire Academy (Vampire Academy #1) by Richelle Mead
Paperback, 332 pages
Published August 16th 2007 by Razorbill
St. Vladimir’s Academy isn’t just any boarding school—it’s a hidden place where vampires are educated in the ways of magic and half-human teens train to protect them. Rose Hathaway is a Dhampir, a bodyguard for her best friend Lissa, a Moroi Vampire Princess. They’ve been on the run, but now they’re being dragged back to St. Vladimir’s—the very place where they’re most in danger...
Rose and Lissa become enmeshed in forbidden romance, the Academy’s ruthless social scene, and unspeakable nighttime rituals. But they must be careful lest the Strigoi—the world’s fiercest and most dangerous vampires—make Lissa one of them forever.

Chapter Two:
- page 12 - 25
- First sentence:
My hatred notwithstanding, I had to admit Dimitri Beli-whatever was pretty smart.
*spoiler alert*
Do not read this if you haven't read the books!
Chapter two was pretty fun. It follows Dimitri and the other Guardians taking Lissa and Rose back to St. Vladimir's. We learn a lot of new stuff like how Rose can kinda get inside Lissa's body for a moment, seeing what she sees and everything. Another aspect of their bond. It also shows how Rose has a bit of a temper... to say the least. I love her attitude. It's one of the things that make her so different from other YA heroines. Chapter two is also the first time Rose calls Dimitri "Comrade" and I do love it when she does. Headmistress Kirova gets introduced and let me tell ya, you don't want to get on her bad side. Rose gets almost send away but Dimitri jumps in and offers to train her. Gotta love that!
So yeah overall a pretty good chapter for a book that's still building up its world and doing a great job. There was talk about the molnija marks which are also a big part of this series. Also the mystery still continues as to why Rose and Lissa ran away. Can't wait to read the next chapter! =D

He shrugged. "She might be wild and disrespectful, but if she has potential— "
Wild and disrespectful? I interrupted. "Who the hell are you anyway? Outsourced help?"
"Guardian Belikov is the princess's guardian now," said Kirova. "Her sanctioned guardian."
"You got cheap foreign labor to protect Lissa?"
