To keep up with our goal of re-reading more of our favorite books and re-discover them we created this challenge to help accomplish that goal. We will be reading one chapter each day and also doing a blog post about the chapter, going into detail about each chapter in the book.
We decided to re-read Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead first.

Vampire Academy (Vampire Academy #1) by Richelle Mead
Paperback, 332 pages
Published August 16th 2007 by Razorbill
St. Vladimir’s Academy isn’t just any boarding school—it’s a hidden place where vampires are educated in the ways of magic and half-human teens train to protect them. Rose Hathaway is a Dhampir, a bodyguard for her best friend Lissa, a Moroi Vampire Princess. They’ve been on the run, but now they’re being dragged back to St. Vladimir’s—the very place where they’re most in danger...
Rose and Lissa become enmeshed in forbidden romance, the Academy’s ruthless social scene, and unspeakable nighttime rituals. But they must be careful lest the Strigoi—the world’s fiercest and most dangerous vampires—make Lissa one of them forever.

Chapter sixteen:
- page 213 - 227
- First sentence:
The next day, it fully hit me how much things had changed since the Jesse-and-Ralf rumors first started.
*spoiler alert*
I'm so glad Rose is starting to come to her senses. I mean, she was on her way already but now Lissa is starting to go crazy. She's even back together with Aaron. This is not helping me like Lissa more. She needs to be with Christian, damn it! Even Rose knows it! Also things start to click together for her even more about St. Vladimir, Lissa, Sonia. How they all haven't specialized in any element and how they all have things in common like healing, being able to do uber compulsion and of course the madness. So Rose goes to a teacher who knows more about it, this way she finds out even more. Finally. She even confronts Lissa with this and makes her promise not to use any magic anymore. But will Lissa live up to that promise? That is another question.
We find out more about Christian's past too. About how his parents turned Strigoi and tried to take him away but his aunt (who we all know) wouldn't let them and then he watched his parents get killed by guardian. So sad.
Also, Rose FINALLY apologizes to Christian. That's been a long time coming, hasn't it? I'm glad she finally did it. Christian was just waiting for her to do so actually. And he deserves it.

Quote:
My snarky switch flipped on. "What are you, an after-school special?"
A ghostly smile flickered across his face. "If you weren't so psychotic, you'd be fun to hang around."
"Funny, I feel that way about you too."
He didn't say anything else, but the smile grew, and he walked away.

If I didn't like Lissa with Christian and Rose with Dimitri so much, I would totally ship Rose and Christian. They would be funny together. :')
I really enjoyed this chapter :) Rose steps up speaks to Lissa about her abusing her abilities and she makes a mends with Christian! I absolutely loved Rose and Christian's 'bonding' moments <3
