She's living her dream...
Kylie Ryans is the biggest thing to come out of Nashville since, well, since Trace Corbin. With a hit album and a powerful label behind her, she appears to be the girl who has it all.
But appearances can be deceiving.
Fresh out of rehab, Trace Corbin is ready to take on the world. Just not the girl he walked away from. Because if there's one thing he knows for certain, it's that the people you love are the ones who have the power to destroy you.
As their worlds collide, they'll have to make the ultimate choice. Follow their dreams, or give it all up for love.
They say love conquers all, but for Kylie and Trace, it just might wreck everything they've worked for.
*clears away lump in throat after finishing Girl in Love* I've said it before and I will say it again, Caisey Quinn's Kylie Ryans books are my favorites in the new adult genre. It's once again proved by Girl in Love how much I adore this series. This whole book is just full of feels and emotionality for me. I had to wipe my eyes clean from tears a few times. I can add Girl in Love to the very short list of books that have actually made me cry (yes, this is a good thing), especially in the epilogue. It was simply perfect. I loved the whole book so so so much!
I gave my heart away and he didn't want it. Now I can't find it anywhere.
I just have to say how lucky I feel to have been able to read these three books. Each one of them have been special and amazing in their own way. I love how whenever I read any book in this series I always feel the need to listen to country music nonstop, which Girl with Guitar and Caisey Quinn made me disover. I used to never listen to it but now it's pretty much my favorite music genre. It's crazy, a good kind of crazy, how books like these can affect someone. It sure affected me in a good way.
She was bourbon and intoxication and freedom from everything that had ever held him captive all rolled into one dangerously enticing package.
So... Girl in Love was damn good. The first book in the series will always be my favorite but I think this one was my second favorite. As always it was intense, romantic, sexy, funny and filled with music. I can't say how much I wish the songs Kylie sings in the book were real. I'd totally buy her cd. But anyway... going in the book, which takes about a year later than the last one, we found Kylie kind of in a bad place, not professionally because she made a pretty good name for herself. Personally, though, she was a bit of a mess. I felt very bad for her but I have to say after a while, it kind of started to bother me. I was ready for her to go back to her old self and you know, get a grip. That's why I feel so... well, almost proud of Trace. He's clearly in a better place now with his drinking problem after rehab though I also feel kinda bad for him whenever he sees Steven around Kylie. Speaking of Steven, I never did love him, I liked him for sure but that was it. And now in this book, although I adore Trace and he's so amazing and swoon-worthy, I can't help but love Steven too now. And I just wish there would be a spin-off kinda thing about him. I know the chances of that are pretty slim but hey, a girl can dream, right? But okay, back to Kylie and Trace. This might be a slight spoiler so I'm giving you time not to read it... 3, 2, 1... Time's up! I love that they got to be on tour together again. I was secretly hoping they would and it was just so good. All the tension that was there in the first book when they toured together for the first time was there and that was my favorite part back then so now it was twice as much intense and funny at times too.
This was what it meant to be sober. He had to feel every-damn-thing. Let it wash over him, pound him down, and beat the living hell out of him.
Because this is the final book in the series, I was kind of afraid of how it would end . You know, sometimes authors really do try hard to let it end in a good way and then it just doesn't... Girl in Love wasn't one of those books at all. I couldn't have wished for a better ending! And finally an epilogue where we get to read about what happens not only to Kylie and Trace but also do other characters we love so much (coughStevencough). I have nothing else to say than I applaud you, Caisey Quinn! The ending and epilogue wasn't nothing more than perfect.
"See, I have this habit of feeling first and thinking second. It's kind of my thing."
Oh and did I mention how very sad I am that this series has ended? I am, but I'm also very happy to have read this book and the two before that. Also I am beyond excited about Caisey Quinn's upcoming book, Last Second Chance.
Favorite Quotes:
Steven shrugged. "Love is messy."
Kylie's eyebrows dipped in confusion. "Uh, who said anything about love?"
He chuckled softly beside her. "You did. and so did he. You both practically shout it from the top of your lungs every time you get within five feet of each other. You just have really fucked-up ways of showing it.
His hand reached out to stroke her smooth cheek, but he pulled back at the last second. He'd just said he wouldn't cross lines and here he was, wanting to trample all over them.
Something else wet touched her cheek. Steven's mouth. He was literally kissing her tears away. Well that was something no one had ever done before. And it was also extremely hot.
