When financially-strapped actor J.J. Center Stage was one of those books that make you laugh out loud even when you are in public. It was also a very fast read. I could've totally read it in one sitting but I decided to draw it out a little bit because I didn't want it to be over so fast.
I liked the two main characters a lot. I also liked how they met with Erika hiring J.J. to play her boyfriend during a family reunion. You can imagine how that might cause for some problems, but it was hilarious.
Erika's family was a riot. Every single member of it has some kind of odd quirk but you can't help but adore them. Erika's grandmother especially was so fun to read about.
Overall, Center Stage by Christine S. Feldman was a quick, funny and family filled story. I didn't quite like it as much as the first book but I still thought it was a great read and a laughed a lot with it.

I've also worked on his Spoodle, his Cocker-shitzu, and a Cheagle--don't ask. (And no, it's not a sexual position).
It doesn't help that he also represents most of my joint-owned veterinary practice's small clientele. We'd only just opened the doors a few months ago, and in he strode with a yelping Taco Terrier. One haughty look at our sparkling new facilities, he'd demanded royal treatment, even though I was currently finger deep up a squalling tom cat.
Ever since then, he expects me to serve him.
Any time. All the time.
Him and his revolving zoo of dogs.
One of these days, I'm going to swat him for being such a pompous ass but I can't deny the way he handles his charges makes me want to see past the 'do as I say and don't ask questions' barking exterior.
But then last week...he caught me staring at his um, cough, package.
His bossy commands switched to a cocky smirk.
He gave me permission to do something I promised myself I would never ever do.
I can touch it.
If I want...
So this book was something different from this author. She usually writes rather dark books (as Pepper Winters), which I love so much. This one, though, is a romantic comedy. I'm more into dark romance but I enjoy a funny book from time to time.
I liked this book, I really did but that was it. I didn't fully love this one but I did laugh my ass off. Some things in the story were just so damn funny. And of course the animals in it stole my heart. I also liked the banter between Vesper and Ryder a lot. Also, there were some serious hot sex scenes (which didn't really surprise me). I also really liked Vesper's best friend Polly. She was SO great!
Some things I didn't like was the random appearance (and drama) of Ryder's ex. I don't want to get too much into it but I feel like the story could've done without that. It was kind of unnessecary in my opinion. But still, I'm pretty excited about the next book which I hope will be about Polly.
Overall, Can't Touch This by Tess Hunter was hilarious, sexy and I thought the animal love in it was so great. Although I didn't love it like some of the author's other books, I definitely liked it and would recommend it to people who adore animals like I do and enjoy books that make them laugh out loud.

Who has time for dating these days? Certainly not struggling entrepreneur Paisley Jameson, who has way too much on her plate to pay any real attention to her shriveling social life. And not mechanic Joe Spencer either, who has a lot on his mind with both the family business and family in general. But neither can say no to the beloved mutual acquaintance who wants to set them both up on a blind date.
Which is too bad, because they both kind of wish they had said no when they show up for the dinner date and realize they've met before--and not under happy circumstances.
But fate seems determined to prove that they're not so wrong for each other after all, because in spite of the intentions of both Paisley and Joe to nip this whole unfortunate blind date thing in the bud and go their separate ways, events transpire to keep them together for an evening involving muggers, foot-chases, and even a high-speed trip to the ER--
And that's all before dessert.
Dating: it's not for wimps…
It Happened One Night was a fast-paced and hilarious read. It's one of those books you just want to keep on reading because it's so good. I think it's even my favorite by Christine S. Feldman so far. Her books just keep getting better and better!
This story is about Paisley Jameson and Joe Spencer who have been set on a blind date by an old woman who just won't take no for an answer. Arriving on the blind date Paisley and Joe realize they have met before, which just like the synopsis says, was not under the best circumstances. Because of this Paisley as well as Joe have the intention of going their seperate ways but it seems like fate has some more in store for their disaster date.
This book was so funny I had to laugh out loud a few times. I just love how Paisley and Joe couldn't seem to catch a break on their date. But that's what made it so hilarious.
I really liked both Paisley and Joe as main characers. They were both very different. Joe being a mechanic and Paisley starting her own business. But opposites do attract and it shows in this story. Mabel (the old woman who set them up) was also a great character that's worth mentioning. She seemed like a riot!

Up until now, straitlaced Simon Kirkendale has done an admirable job of keeping his high society mother’s demands for grandbabies at bay, but lately she’s kicked things into high gear. So he isn’t too disappointed to delay her latest matchmaking attempt when a pretty stranger hops into the backseat of his car en route to one of his mother’s dinner parties and tells him to drive. A car-jacking? Nope. More like a bird on the run, but this particular bird happens to be a parrot who has slipped its cage, and Simon’s new acquaintance desperately needs to get it back before she loses sight of it altogether.
Ever the nice guy—and okay, maybe also a little intrigued by the colorful Miss Juleen Pruitt’s sudden appearance in his car—Simon hits the gas pedal and obliges only to find himself unwittingly dragged into a wild goose chase around town for a bird who seems to be determined to either get itself killed or the two people trying to catch it. Simon’s money is on the latter.
But it turns out that a little disruption and chaos in his life might just be what Simon needs most—especially if it comes in the form of Juleen.
If he can just manage to survive meeting her…
Winging It by Christine S. Feldman is honestly the cutest and funniest book I have read this year. I can't remember how many times I laughed out loud or smiled like crazy with it.
I really liked the main character, Simon Kirkendale from the start and the story pretty much starts with a woman named Juleen jumping into his car and telling him to drive to chase Franky, her grandfather's parrot, that she lost. This was already so funny because I hadn't really expected this to happen. To say Simon was startled is an understatement but he goes along with it anyway.
The rest of the story continues with trying to catch Frankie, which is very entertaining to say the least, from jumping into a pond to getting set on fire. I also loved how Simon found out how a bit of absurdity is not a bad thing, especially where Juleen is concerned because she's not an average woman. And I can't point out enough how much I loved the humor in this book. I don't read a lot of romantic comedy books but is they're all like this I might have to read more.
Usually with short novellas like this I find that there's not enough room for me to really get to know the character or have a connection to them or the story but this is definitely not the case with this story. It was very engaging and of course funny as hell. Not quite a five-star read but I would absolutely recommend this to anyone, especially if you're looking for a hilarious story that's well-written and entertaining.
