Book Blogger New Year’s Challenge - Day 13: Share a Blogger Horror Story

Hosted by Rachel @ ParaJunkee

This New Year's Challenge sounds like a fun way to kick off the new year!

Share a Blogger Horror Story

I don't really have a blogger horror story. Which is a good thing I guess.
I have heard some bad things from other bloggers though. There's a lot of bullying from both bloggers and authors. I never had anything like this happen to me on my blog or Goodreads but that's something I would never want to happen to me. And the thing is, I don't want to be "afraid" that this will happen. It shouldn't be happening at all to people. Especially not because you have an opinion about something.
Also another thing I don't want happening to me is my blog disappearing. I've heard from other bloggers that this happened to them and I would have a heart attack if that would happen to my blog. Seriously.

How about you?
Do you have a blogger horror story to share?

Book Blogger New Year’s Challenge - Day 12: How Do I Plan On Getting More Followers This Year

Hosted by Rachel @ ParaJunkee

This New Year's Challenge sounds like a fun way to kick off the new year!

How Do I Plan On Getting More Followers This Year

I think I'm going to go on pretty much the same way I have before. Frankly, I'm not really interested anymore in the followers number. Of course I would love more and new people to follow me but I think there's more to gain when your "followers" actually read your blog posts and comment. And really, people don't have to follow me to read my posts though it is much appreciated.
But aside from all that, I will try to comment more on other blogs and be more active with social media.

How about you?
How do you plan on getting more followers?

Book Blogger New Year’s Challenge - Day 11: TBR Shelf: How many?

Hosted by Rachel @ ParaJunkee

This New Year's Challenge sounds like a fun way to kick off the new year!

TBR Shelf: How many?

um... to damn many, that's for sure.

Let's leave Goodreads out of this one because on my TBR shelf there are too many and books get added every day.

On my actual physical TBR shelf there are about 100 books. Could be less or more but that's about it.
Got a lot of catching up and reading to do, huh?

How about you?
How many books are on your TBR shelf?
Let me know!

New Things I Will Be Doing This Year

The only new thing I can think of right now is that soon me and Christina from Booksane will be starting a re-read of Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead of 1 chapter a day and making a post of it every day for our blogs too. It should be lots of fun! :D

How about you?
What new thing will you be doing this year?

Book Blogger New Year’s Challenge - Day 9: Cons or events I hope to Attend

Hosted by Rachel @ ParaJunkee

This New Year's Challenge sounds like a fun way to kick off the new year!

Cons or events I hope to Attend

Okay, so... there aren't much bookish events here in Belgium, except two that I go to each year.

In may we have The Book Festival that goes pretty much all around Belgium and also in Holland. They have the cheapest books. And when I say cheapest, I really mean cheap. The most expensive book I got last year was of €2.50 so that's unbelievably cheap. I didn't really go until last year and I was pleasantly surprised by all the awesome books they had (In Dutch but also English, yay!)

The other event is probably my favorite, the annual Book Fair in Antwerp in the fall. In 2013 it was the best one so far because I got to meet Lauren Kate and she signed my books (Teardrop and Fallen)!
So of course I'm hoping this year another awesome author will come. I can't wait to find out!

How about you?
What cons or events will you attend?

Book Blogger New Year’s Challenge - Day 8: My Favorite Book Blogger Moment

Hosted by Rachel @ ParaJunkee

This New Year's Challenge sounds like a fun way to kick off the new year!

My Favorite Book Blogger Moment

This is a really hard one. There were so many awesome moments in the two years I'm blogging so trying to pick one is really hard. Any of the moments on my blog are pretty special to me because I love it so much and get to connect with so many awesome fellow bloggers and authors.
But to choose one moment I'll go with the day I got my first Kindle. It really made reading e-books that much easier and I think I'm reading more digital books now than print ones. Wow. But yes, that's my favorite moment. It really kicked reading books, especially arcs up a notch. Love my Kindle so much!

How about you?
What's your favorite blogger moments?

Book Blogger New Year’s Challenge - Day 7: Top Ten Book Blogger Pet Peeves

Hosted by Rachel @ ParaJunkee

This New Year's Challenge sounds like a fun way to kick off the new year!

Top Ten Book Blogger Pet Peeves

  • People writing my blog name wrong - It's "Bookfever" and NOT "Book Fever", people. Yes, a mistake can be made but, sorry, when 8/10 people do this I'm starting to get annoyed.
  • Getting random review requests when it says on my blog that I'm not open for new ones - I just wish some people would at least check with my review policy.
  • CAPTCHA - It's super annoying, especially now that we have to type a gazillion numbers.
  • Authors or bloggers acting negatively towards reviews, posts, etc... - Just don't.
  • Too many giveaway requirments - I mostly end up not entering when this is the case.

Okay, I couldn't figure out 10 so I settled on 5...

How about you?

What are your blogger pet peeves?

Worst Book of 2013

The Elite (The Selection #2) by Kiera Cass

I was really disappointed by this book. I did love the first book, The Selection but its sequel was downright awful and had to give it only one star sadly enough.

Which book did you think was the worst in 2013?

Book Blogger New Year’s Challenge - Day 1: Blogger Resolutions

Hosted by Rachel @ ParaJunkee

This New Year's Challenge sounds like a fun way to kick off the new year!

Happy 2014 everyone!

1. Accepting less review requests
I have to admit in 2013 I went a little crazy with all the books for review I accepted. This year I definitely want to take that down a notch, aside from the usual authors I review for. I am open for new review request BUT I'll probably be accepting a lot less and more reading the books that I still have sitting on my shelves. My poor neglected books.

2. Reading less short stories
Okay, this might be more of a reader resolution than a blogger one but what the hell. I read a lot of short stories in 2013, even ones that were ridiculously short. And I don't know... I think I've grown kind of sick of them. Of course I will read some short stories if they're from series that I love but probably way less this year.

3. Comment more on other blogs
I feel like I'm kind of bad at commenting on other people's blog aside from the few that I consider my blogging buddies. So I'd like to do that more and make more blogger friends that way.

4. Re-read more books
Another reader resolution. This will probably be the hardest for me because I have a hard time re-reading books. But I will try my best to do more of that this year. Maybe even try to come up with a meme for this. If something like it doesn't already excist. Suggestions are welcome!

How about you?
Do you have any blogger/reader resolutions?
