“There was a monster once. A monster who bought me, controlled me, and took away my freedom.
There was a man once. A man who dealt in myth and secrets, hiding behind his mask, making me hunger and wish to know the truth.”

Eleanor Grace belongs to the man and the monster, hating them both but unable to deny that something links them. Something she doesn’t want to feel, something that traps her as surely as the sea surrounding the island where she serves.

Sully Sinclair belongs to his past and the black and white script his life has become. He views his goddesses as commodities—possessions to be treated kindly but firmly. The only problem is…Eleanor is different.

She’s jinxed him.
Cursed him.
Awakened him.
She’s a goddess with the power to ruin him.

I just finished Twice a Wish and I am just not okay. Not at all! I don't know how much sense this review is going to make but holy fuck this was such a good read! I mean, I didn't expect anything else than good things from a Pepper Winters book but this one was really excellent. I loved it so much!

As much as I loved Once a Myth, I thought this second book was even better. I got to know the characters more, especially Sully and I obviously loved that. Ever since I read the first book I've wanted to know more about his backstory, to see where his love for animals came from as well as his disdain for humans. And that's exactly what we got so I couldn't have been more happier.

I also still adore Eleanor a.k.a. Jinx. In this book she's very much struggling with her feelings for Sully because he's her captor after all who rents her out to other men. But even though she's struggling, she's on the one hand also still fighting but on the other hand also becoming a whole different person than who we first met. I can't wait to see how she'll keep growing throughout the series.

I still love Eleanor's chemistry with Sully because it's off the charts scorching and sizzling. There were a lot of kissing scenes in this book and I just have to mention how well-written they were. These two haven't even slept together and already their romantic scenes are so freaking intense and hot so I'm sure book three is going to kick that up a notch more.

I thought I knew where the ending of this book was going but there goes the author and throws a twist in the mix of things and I'm honestly shook because I hadn't seen it coming. And now I can't wait to get my hands on the next book because I'm so very desperate to know what will happen next. Damn she's good.
