The heart-stopping conclusion to the New York Times bestselling Shatter Me series, which Ransom Riggs, bestselling author of Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children, called “a thrilling, high-stakes saga of self-discovery and forbidden love.”

With Omega Point destroyed, Juliette doesn’t know if the rebels, her friends, or even Adam are alive. But that won’t keep her from trying to take down The Reestablishment once and for all. Now she must rely on Warner, the handsome commander of Sector 45. The one person she never thought she could trust. The same person who saved her life. He promises to help Juliette master her powers and save their dying world . . . but that’s not all he wants with her.

The Shatter Me series is perfect for fans who crave action-packed young adult novels with tantalizing romance like Divergent by Veronica Roth, The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins, and Legend by Marie Lu. Tahereh Mafi has created a captivating and original story that combines the best of dystopian and paranormal, and was praised by Publishers Weekly as “a gripping read from an author who’s not afraid to take risks.” Now this final book brings the series to a shocking and satisfying end.

“I can do anything I want.
Be with anyone I want.
And it'll be my choice.”

I don't even know what to say right now. Ignite Me amazed me, thrilled me, made me cry, made me happy... it was a rollercoaster I wouldn't mind going on again.

This is not going to be a very long review because I don't have a lot to say except that it was perfect.

You never know with an ending of a dystopian series. It can end really good but it also can end really bad. Personally I liked this ending a lot. Tahereh Mafi basically covered everything she had to and I'm so glad everything worked out well.

It's obvious that this book focuses more on the romance but I can't say I mind because I am totally in love with Warner. He was brilliant in this book. Simply brilliant. He's definitely one of the more intense and complicated characters I have read about but wow...

As for Juliette... she has come such a long way. From being this fragile, scared girl to a powerful woman who can lead a nation. And yeah, I really like her and Warner a lot together. They know each other so well and understand each other perfectly.

I'm not even going to talk about Adam much except that I think he was kinda psychotic in this book. Sure, he has a good reason to be but whatever. Ever since Unravel Me I  haven't liked him anymore so... But at least those who do love Adam can be glad he also found some happiness eventually.

And Kenji... Oh Kenji. He stole my heart once more. All I want is to read more about him because he's my favorite character in the book. I really like how he and Juliette have this good friendship and all the talks they have talking about their feelings and such. I wish I had a Kenji!

As this book focuses more on the romance, it doesn't have a lot of action that some other dystopian do have but the "big" battle was perfectly written for me. In the end justice did come for everyone and I'm just so glad nobody I loved died.

Overall, Ignite Me is a perfect ending to an amazing series. Not only is Tahereh Mafi's writing style just brilliant, her characters are unique and fantastic as well. And I have to say that I got a bit emotional at the end too. Bravo! I can't wait to see what Ms. Mafi is going to come up with next! I'm sure it's going to be fabulous!

Favorite Quotes:

Kenji has a hand pressed to his mouth, desperately trying to suppress a smile. He’s shaking his head, holding up a hand in apology. And then he breaks, laughing out loud, snorting as he tries to muffle the sound. “I’m sorry,” he says, pressing his lips together, shaking his head again. “This is not a funny moment. It’s not. I’m not laughing”
Aaron Warner Anderson, chief commander and regent of Sector 45, son of the supreme commander of The Reestablishment.

He has a soft spot for fashion.
“This isn't about Adam or Warner," I tell him, "This is about me and what I want. This is about me finally understanding where I want to be in ten years. Because I'm going to be alive, Kenji. I will be alive in ten years, and I'm going to be happy. I'm going to be strong. And I don't need anyone to tell me that anymore. I am enough, and I always will be.”

  2. Aw. I really liked Shatter Me - after hating on it and then giving it a second chance - but I haven't gotten around to reading the sequels. Will have to pick them up soon. Great review (I heart Warner too!)
