► Top Ten Things That Will Make Me Instantly Want To Read A Book ◄
Ancient Egypt
Whether or not it's fiction or nonfiction, I'd read anything about Ancient Egypt. It's my favorite historical era to read/learn about.

Shadowhunters
Any book written by Cassandra Clare about the Shadowhunter world is a must-read for me. My favorite book is still Clockwork Angel.
Magical Realism
When I know a book has magical realism in it it's almost guaranteed that I will enjoy it. I just love that line between contemporary and the magical.
Myths & Legends
I absolutely love myths and legends. Song of Princes is a great one for Greek mythology and I've always been intrigued in the Bathory legend also.
Time Travel
Time travel is probaly one of my favorite things that will make me pick up a book. Especially if it's time travel to the past (which it usually is).
Fae
Fae are my favorite supernatural creatures. Whether or not they're good or bad, I love reading about them.
Space
In the last two or so years I've been getting really into books set in space. Michelle Diener's Class 5 trilogy is my favorite.
Dark Romance
Dark romance a la Pepper Winters and Skye Warren is my favorite kind of romance.
Historical Fiction/Romance
This is my favorite genre so I had to add it. I love reading any historical books. These two are top favorites of mine.

Ottoman Empire
I don't know what it is but whenever I see a book that features even a little bit of the Ottoman Empire I have to read it.

DeleteI like magical realism as well! Total fantasy is nice sometimes, but I like to read about things that I think could actually be real in our world! I'll read pretty much anything that's historical fiction, too. I would love to read a novel about ancient Egypt - I haven't come across too many!

I would most definitely read ANY shadowhunter book EVER. Just thinking about Lord of Shadows coming out next months is... *hyperventilating*
Also, both Illuminae and Karen Marie Moning got me into their genres. LOVE these books.
Rick Riordan was the one to get me into mythology.
And time travel? Oh, time travel is a personal obsession of mine. I just *hear* the word 'time travel' and I'm excited.
Doctor Who, Ruby Red, Outlander...
It's so hard to do time travel right. But when you do... it's OH SO GOOD.
I'm glad we agree about so many things! And yessss Lord of Shadows next month. I'm so excited! I have my copy already pre-ordered of course! ;)
DeleteGreat list! I have to agree with a lot of it. If it has anything to do with Shadowhunters and myths or legends I am going to want to read it myself! Historical fiction is totally one for you ;)
