Feyre is immortal.

After rescuing her lover Tamlin from a wicked Faerie Queen, she returns to the Spring Court possessing the powers of the High Fae. But Feyre cannot forget the terrible deeds she performed to save Tamlin's people - nor the bargain she made with Rhysand, High Lord of the feared Night Court.

As Feyre is drawn ever deeper into Rhysand's dark web of politics and passion, war is looming and an evil far greater than any queen threatens to destroy everything Feyre has fought for. She must confront her past, embrace her gifts and decide her fate.

She must surrender her heart to heal a world torn in two.

I have so many words coming to mind when I think back to A Court of Mist and Fury — Brilliant. Thrilling. Steamy. Heartbreaking. Tragic. Radiant. Seductive. Well, I could go on and on. Because it was all that and so much more!

So this is my third book by Sarah J. Maas tha tI have read. I read Throne of Glass, which didn't sit very well with me. Last year I gave A Court of Thorns and Roses a shot and it ended up being so amazing but with A Court of Mist and Fury it was a thousand times more amazing than that one was.

During the first part of the book I felt so very bad for Feyre because let's face it, after everything she went through in the last book she was more than a bit depressed and Tamlin (I'm so not a fan of his...) wasn't helping a lot with that either, in my opinion. But I gotta say that the way the author wrote all that was pretty impressive. Because who wouldn't be depressed after going through what Feyre went through.

Enter Rhysand! *cheers* Honestly, I already loved him in ACOTAR but oh my goodness he has turned into one of my top favorite characters ever and definitely my favorite fae character ever. Everything he has done for those he loved and everything he did for Feyre in this book. JESUS CHRIST.

I also absolutely loved Rhys's friends. Mor, Cassian, Azriel, Amren... what a varied bunch they were. I loved them all!

And let's not forget the totally amazing writing. Action, creepy, romantic, angst — this author can do it all. Especially the creepy scenes... I swear to god some of those scenes will give me nightmares.

What more can I say? I loved A Court of Mist and Fury so damn much. I can't even express enough how incredible this book was. The feels, man, the feels!

  1. Oefff I really struggle with this one. Because I've seen people adore this book to the point that they exclaim it's the best book EVER. But... on the other hand I also see people that don't like it AT ALL and considering my SJMaas fatigue... I might be on the latter's side for this book. What I've heard about it also doesn't help. I will read it. But if it doesn't work for me, I think I'm done with this author because I already quit her Throne of Glass series. :( Which makes me sad.

    1. I thought it was so, so beautiful and hope you will at least like it when you get to reading it.
Too bad! But it's kinda funny because now I am actually getting more into her TOG series when at first I didn't like it much with the first two books but I am loving Heir of Fire.

  2. I really need to pick this one up very soon, I loved ACOTAR but I'm a little intimidated by this one due to the hype and the 600+ pages :O

  3. I am SO GLAD you loved it! Also really impressed that you managed to write such a short review and still say everything you meant to say. I was in no way able to do that. As you've probably noticed - I am one of those people that will loudly exclaim it is one of the best books EVER and I smile every time I find someone who loved this book too. When I finished I couldn't shut up about this book for days on end and it's only slightly getting better. *sigh* Rhyyss <3 Now we wait for book 3.

If you're interested. You can find my review here.

  4. So happy you could love the sequel! It seems like one of the best second books in a series that you've read before, and it sounds super emotional too. Everything a reader could want :3
