Helloooo my fellow bookworms! It's time for the first wrap-up of the year. I feel like the month of January went by slowly but also fast at the same time if that makes any sense. My reading month started out slow but I'm pretty happy with the 7 books I read. Also, so far I've reviewed all the books I've read. Some of them I still need to post but they're coming! :D

Favorite book of the month:
In the sequel to New York Times bestselling A Curse So Dark and Lonely, Brigid Kemmerer returns to the world of Emberfall in a lush fantasy where friends become foes and love blooms in the darkest of places.
Find the heir, win the crown.
The curse is finally broken, but Prince Rhen of Emberfall faces darker troubles still. Rumors circulate that he is not the true heir and that forbidden magic has been unleashed in Emberfall. Although Rhen has Harper by his side, his guardsman Grey is missing, leaving more questions than answers.
Win the crown, save the kingdom.
Rumored to be the heir, Grey has been on the run since he destroyed Lilith. He has no desire to challenge Rhen--until Karis Luran once again threatens to take Emberfall by force. Her own daughter Lia Mara sees the flaws in her mother’s violent plan, but can she convince Grey to stand against Rhen, even for the good of Emberfall?
The heart-pounding, compulsively readable saga continues as loyalties are tested and new love blooms in a kingdom on the brink of war.
Okay, so, nobody is more surprised than me that A Heart So Fierce and Broken ended up being my favorite book of the month. I wasn't a fan of the first book but this one? Oh my god, it was everything and more! I'm planning on posting my review soon so you can all read about everything that I loved in it. ♥

What was your favorite book of January?
Looks like you had a really good month. And it's so unusual that the second book in the series would be better than the first, but I'm glad that happened for you😁
ReplyDeleteI know, right? I'm so glad I gave the series another shot after the first book.
ReplyDeleteAn great month for you! A couple I want to read myself. Happy February!
ReplyDeleteSounds like you had a great reading month. The first book in a series is usually always the best for me but I'm really glad you enjoyed the second book more. Hopefully you'll be able to continue with the series. If I don't like a book I'm one to be hesitant to pick up the next one in the series.
ReplyDeleteI'm just getting back into reading and I"m happy that I got one book finished. It only took me about three days so I feel pretty accomplished.
Here's to another great reading month!
The Cursebreakers is a series that I would like to pick up. There are alot of holds for it at our library though. You've had a great reading month and I hope next month is just as good as this one. Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteJust Mercy I think. I finally got to see the movie too -- and I haven't been able to stop thinking about them both.
ReplyDeleteHaha, I just commented on another blog that January always feels so long and slow yet it's crazy that it's already February! Happy reading this month!
