Hey everyone! ♥
So this is a different sort of post from me. Today I wanted to spotlight this fundraiser by Marteen Ebrahim. I've been following her for a while now on Twitter and recently she made this GoFundMe to help create her nonprofit called The Book Fairy Society. Below you'll find more information and links about this but I think it's really an awesome thing that Marteen's doing and that's why I wanted to share about this so I hope you'll all check it out at least.

What's it about?
(I copy-pasted this from Marteen's GoFundMe)
Why should you donate?
So I made this nonprofit based off of two things: people throwing away books and people not being able to buy or have access to books. With this nonprofit I want to donate books to less fortunate people in my community and help that spread to other states and countries.( I will have a team for that. I have small one right now, but I'm hoping more book fairies will join) I also want to bring the book community together outside of the internet and help it thrive.
All the money will go to paying the fees of becoming a nonprofit and other nonprofit experience like boxes for putting the donated books into, storage, and so on.
This video talks about out some ideas I was starting with for the nonprofit:

This video is me saving and donating about 2,000 books.

Sounds amazing, right? Please check out the YouTube videos (links above and videos below) If you can donate, that would be awesome but if not please take a few seconds to spread the news about it all.

ReplyDeleteWhat a great way to share book love!
ReplyDeleteI know right! :o
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely!
ReplyDeleteI love that you're spotlighting this! I recently did a massive unhaul in the netherlands!! All my books also went to charities though, and I have given them all away already :/
ReplyDeleteWow! This is a really ambitious project and I think that it is fantastic that she is trying to make such a widespread difference! Throwing books away is so wrong. I have been donating mine all over the place as well, but never considered a task like this one. Thanks for sharing it!!
