Thirsty Thursday & Hungry Hearts #1

Thirsty Thursday & Hungry Hearts is a weekly meme hosted by (un)Conventional Bookviews

The idea of Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts is to share a quote with food or drinks that showed up in a recent read, as well as if it’s something you think you’d like or not.

For my first Thirsty Thursday & Hungry Hearts post I have a quote from Escort by Skye Warren. This is a book about male escort Hugo and virgin Bea who hires him. I love that Hugo knows how to cook and that he took the time to make it for Bea. The fact that his mother (who passed away) taught him how to make it showed Hugo's softer side and that made me adore him even more.

My Quote:

In my loft I prepare a gourmet picnic with sliced meats and creamy cheeses. There are plump grapes and ripe strawberries. A baguette from the French bakery so fresh it crackles when I place it in the bag. Most of these items are easy to prepare. The only thing I make from scratch is a moist brioche with hints of orange and white chocolate, soft on the inside, the sugar caramelized on the outside. My mother taught me to make this.

Escort releases on March 20th and my review for the blog tour will be up on March 27th. I absolutely loved the story and think it's one of Skye's best books yet.

  4. Love this meme idea! I will have to give it a whirl sometime! There is something about food in books that just makes everything seem right with the world. You have me wishing for some cheese and baguette now! :)
