The Huntress by Kate Quinn
Expected publication: February 26th 2019 by William Morrow Paperbacks
From the author of the New York Times and USA Today bestselling novel, THE ALICE NETWORK, comes another fascinating historical novel about a battle-haunted English journalist and a Russian female bomber pilot who join forces to track the Huntress, a Nazi war criminal gone to ground in America.
In the aftermath of war, the hunter becomes the hunted…
Bold and fearless, Nina Markova always dreamed of flying. When the Nazis attack the Soviet Union, she risks everything to join the legendary Night Witches, an all-female night bomber regiment wreaking havoc on the invading Germans. When she is stranded behind enemy lines, Nina becomes the prey of a lethal Nazi murderess known as the Huntress, and only Nina’s bravery and cunning will keep her alive.
Transformed by the horrors he witnessed from Omaha Beach to the Nuremberg Trials, British war correspondent Ian Graham has become a Nazi hunter. Yet one target eludes him: a vicious predator known as the Huntress. To find her, the fierce, disciplined investigator joins forces with the only witness to escape the Huntress alive: the brazen, cocksure Nina. But a shared secret could derail their mission unless Ian and Nina force themselves to confront it.
Growing up in post-war Boston, seventeen-year-old Jordan McBride is determined to become a photographer. When her long-widowed father unexpectedly comes homes with a new fiancée, Jordan is thrilled. But there is something disconcerting about the soft-spoken German widow. Certain that danger is lurking, Jordan begins to delve into her new stepmother’s past—only to discover that there are mysteries buried deep in her family . . . secrets that may threaten all Jordan holds dear.
In this immersive, heart-wrenching story, Kate Quinn illuminates the consequences of war on individual lives, and the price we pay to seek justice and truth.
Oh my gosh, I'm so damn excited for this book! Kate Quinn is an insta-buy author for me and The Huntress is definitely in my top 5 of most anticipated books that are releasing in 2019. The Alice Network that was released in 2017 especially made me a big fan of Kate's work and it's still one of my favorite historical fiction books ever so I'm having very high hopes for this new upcoming one. Also, the cover was revealed recently and I really love it. It reminds me of the cover of The Alice Network, which just makes me even more excited to get my hands on The Huntress. Only 6 months to go!
I'd love to hear your thoughts on The Huntress by Kate Quinn. Do you like the synopsis and/or cover? Are you also looking forward to it? Feel free to let me know your thoughts!
And don't forget to leave me a link to your posts so I can visit you back.

Wow, this does sound good. I haven't read a good historical fiction book in ages, seems like.
ReplyDeleteOh, this sounds SO GOOD! Such a complex plot, strong female characters, including the Huntress and dammit I want!!!!
ReplyDeleteThis is probably my most anticipated historical fiction of 2019.
ReplyDelete*grabby hands* If it's even only half as good as The Alice Network then it's going to be fricking amazing!
ReplyDeleteWow, this sounds intense! I'm definitely adding this to my list, plus how can you not love a story about a group of women called the Night Witches?😊

ReplyDeleteOMG, Steph!!!!! This is an AMAZING pick, girl!!!! I LOVE that plot synopsis!!! And the cover, too!!!
ReplyDeleteI don't read much historical fiction, and I really should. Books dealing with WWII and the F***ING Nazis are especially interesting to me. I still remember that INCREDIBLE movie I saw, several years ago, which starred Michael Douglas and Melanie Griffiths....It's titled "Shining Through". You've GOT to see that movie!!! It's based on a book by Susan Isaacs, and guess what? The MOVIE is BETTER than the book!! I'm not kidding, either! I skimmed the book once, and was VERY disappointed....
Anyway, thanks for sharing this!! I'm adding it to my GR shelves right away!! Thanks as well for commenting on my CWW post!! HUGS!!! <3 <3 <3 :) :) :)
I have never heard of this book or this author before, but now you've got me interested in it and I have added it to my TBR. I'm definitely going to have to check this out! :)
