There is no shame in pleasure. And no love in business.
I have a blind date tonight, and I know with 100% certainty that I'm getting lucky. There shouldn't be any surprises, not for one as jaded as me, but when I walk into the penthouse suite of L'Etoile, everything changes.
1) For one thing, Bea is heartstoppingly gorgeous. Pale green eyes and endless freckles. Curves I want to spend all night exploring, as if her body was made for me.
2) Her innocence makes me want to use my entire inventory of bedroom tricks on her and then invent a few more.
3) Except that . . . she’s a virgin.
I can initiate her into the world of desire without letting her get attached, can't I? A few hours of tutoring, and at the end of the night a small fortune will be deposited into my bank account.
Yes, you read that right. There are many words for what I do. After all, mine is the oldest profession. I'm an escort, which means this date is nothing more than a mutually enjoyable transaction.
But once I realize one night with her won’t be enough, I’m the one who's screwed.
I've been really looking forward to this new book by this author, because she's one of my favorites. I'm so glad to say that Escort even exceeded my high expectations. I have to say it wasn't perfect or anything but I'm not looking for perfection in books because that gets boring quickly. And Skye Warren writes romance like almost no one else does. I just loved it!
Escort has some of my favorite tropes involved. The story is about a male escort and the virgin who hires him. Also, the story is solely told in the male point of view by Hugo. I don't think this author has ever only written a book in the POV by the male main character so I was absolutely thrilled she did it with this book. It was a perfect decision and I loved it.
I absolutely adored Hugo and Bea together. I loved how quickly he was taken by her and the situation she was in. I also liked how it wasn't just a steamy read about a male escort but that there was more to it than that, involving the person who own the hotel where Bea lived. I'm not going to reveal much more but it added a little bit of suspense with all of that.
This book is a standalone but a few characters from the author's previous book made appearances. I kind of lost my cool when Blue (who is my favorite character that this author has written) was mentioned so I really, really enjoyed that aspect. And I also hope some other characters who were mentioned will get their own book and I think they will.
Oveall, Escort had everything I want from a book by Skye Warren. It was well-written, a quick read and of course the romance was hot as hell. I loved it!

Even if I particularly love her dark stories, I have a good time with basically everything she writes, so it makes me really happy to read you had a very pleasant one with this new title! :D
ReplyDeleteI haven't read a book by Skye Warren, but every excerpt I've read brings me closer and closer to picking up her book. This one sounds steamy.

It is so cool when the author has characters from other books pop in to the story. The male POV in this one sounds really interesting and the concept seems amazing. I am so glad that you enjoyed it so much. :)
ReplyDeleteI don't think I have ever read a book where this trope has been featured before. And as I do generally read a lot of romance I thought I had all tropes covered. I'm going to have to check this one out now!!
