Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading.
My teaser:
“Basia coquum," Simon said. "Or whatever their motto is."
"It's 'Descensus Averno facilis est.' 'The descent into hell is easy," said Alec. "You just said "Kiss the cook."
"Dammit," said Simon. "I knew Jace was screwing with me.”
-page 35, City of Lost Souls by Cassandra Clare
Anyone can participate in Teaser Tuesdays. Just do the following:
• Grab your current read
• Open to a random page
• Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
• BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
• Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
Awesome teaser! That sounds exactly like the kind of thing Jace would do to Simon lol.

Haha I remember that bit. I love the humour in The Mortal Instruments. Even though City of Lost Souls was dark it had great comic moments too. Great teaser.

Hi Stephanie,
ReplyDeleteGreat teaser lines, although this is probably not a book that I would be rushing out to buy. It isn't really my favourite genre and I am notoriously bad at starting a series and working my way through them, I much prefer stand-alone stories.
The cover is quite cute though and when I checked out the synopsis, this powerful line caught my eye immediately:
"Who can be trusted when sin and salvation collide?"
Thanks for sharing and I hope that you enjoy the book.
Yvonne
Good teaser! I need to add this to my books.
