I'm not picking a favorite book of September because there were too many that I absolutely loved like Queen of Shadows, Empire of Storms, Every Exquisite Thing, A Deeper Love and The Evolution of Man. September was a really good reading month and I listened to a lot of audiobooks as well! My free month on Scribd ended so I doubt I'll listen to as many in October. I might re-subscribe in the future, though. :)

What was your favorite book of September?

Can't-Wait Wednesday: Athena's Champion by David Hair & Cath Mayo

Can't-Wait Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted at Wishful Endings, to spotlight and talk about the books we're excited about that we have yet to read. It's based on Waiting On Wednesday hosted at Breaking the Spine.

Athena's Champion by David Hair & Cath Mayo
Expected publication: November 8th 2018 by Canelo

The first in a thrilling new historical fantasy series; Odysseus must embrace his secret heritage and outwit the vengeful Gods who would control or destroy him…

Prince Odysseus of Ithaca is about to have his world torn apart. He’s travelled to the oracle at Pytho to be anointed as heir to his island kingdom; but instead the Pythia reveals a terrible secret, one that tears down every pillar of his life, and marks him out for death.

Outcast by his family, hunted by the vengeful gods, Odysseus is offered sanctuary by Athena, goddess of wisdom, and thrust into the secret war between the Olympians for domination and survival. Only his wits, and his skill as a warrior, can keep him ahead of their power games – and alive.

When one of Athena’s schemes goes drastically wrong, and the young Helen of Sparta is kidnapped, Odysseus must journey past the gates of Hades to save her. Falling in love with a Trojan princess, a bewitching woman who poses a deadly threat to both his homeland and Athena, won’t make his task any easier…

Drawing from classic Greek mythology, Athena's Champion, first in the epic Olympus series, is perfect for fans of Madeline Miller and David Gemmell.

Look what book I stumbled upon yesterday! 😍
This is the first book in a new historical fantasy trilogy about
Odysseus. Doesn't it sound absolutely perfect? I'd read anything that's derived from Greek mythology but I have a special place in my heart for Odysseus and anything related to the Trojan war so I'm really excited to read the book. The cover is freaking gorgeous as well. I love the owl on the cover because it clearly represents Athena. It's so beautiful.

Also, it's up for $2.99 for pre-order on Kindle so of course I 1-clicked it already!

Blog Tour — Review: The Evolution of Man by Skye Warren

Title: The Evolution of Man
Author: Skye Warren

Series: Trust Fund Duet #2
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Purchase it on: Amazon | Amazon Worldwide | Barnes & Noble | iBooks | Kobo
Rating: 4/5

Ambitious. Intense. Irresistible.

The Evolution of Man, the stunning conclusion to the Trust Fund Duet by New York Times bestselling author Skye Warren, is LIVE!

I never wanted to fall for man.

And definitely not two men.

They tear me apart until I don’t know how I’ll ever be whole again.

Until I’m not sure I want to be. How can I choose between two halves of myself?

THE EVOLUTION OF MAN is the second novel in the USA Today
bestselling duet, which begins with Survival of the Richest.

Oh my gosh, I don't know how Skye Warren does it but she yet again managed to pull me into a story that didn't want to let me go. This book nearly destroyed me. But that's what I loved about it. Does that even make any sense?

I've always thought that the author's Stripped series was my favorite but this duology has definitely overshadowed it for me. Which is a pretty huge deal for me. The characters in the books Harper, Christopher and Sutton just did something to me. I loved reading about them and I definitely wouldn't mind more books about them, even if they're only secondary characters. I'm definitely not into love triangles these days but the whole thing between Harper, Christopher and Sutton was just so hot. Some of the sex scenes made even me blush, which is saying a lot. Just... damn.

So I know I said a lot of really possitive things about this book and I did love it so much. It was a really great read that I enjoyed so much. And to be honest, it would've been a five star rating from me if it wasn't for the ending. I know of myself that I'm weird when it comes to book ending. They have to be just right for me and I just thought this ending moved a little too fast for me. I just wanted to know what happened to Sutton because he was my favorite guy. My heart just ached for him but it was like he was suddenly gone.

BUT I know there will be a bonus epilogue about him that I signed up for to receive but I won't get it until October. At least Skye knows what some of her readers want, right? I love that.

Start the series with Survival of the Richest
