In the Shadows by Kiersten White and Jim Di Bartolo
Hardcover, 384 pages
Expected publication: April 29th 2014 by Scholastic Press
From the remarkable imagination of acclaimed artist Jim Di Bartolo and the exquisite pen of bestselling author Kiersten White comes a spellbinding story of love, mystery, and dark conspiracy, told in an alternating narrative of words and pictures.

Cora and Minnie are sisters living in a small, stifling town where strange and mysterious things occur. Their mother runs the local boarding house. Their father is gone. The woman up the hill may or may not be a witch.

Thomas and Charles are brothers who’ve been exiled to the boarding house so Thomas can tame his ways and Charles can fight an illness that is killing him with increasing speed. Their family history is one of sorrow and guilt. They think they can escape from it . . . but they can’t.

I have a bit of an addiction when it comes to Kiersten White books. All except the last two Paranormalcy books that I haven't read yet, I loved all her books. In the Shadows sounds like another amazing book that I can't wait to get my hands on. I also am really excited to see the pictures by Jim Di Bartolo. I'm sure it's all going to be fantastic!

  5. I really like Keirsten White too! Her Paranormalcy books were awesome, even if I haven't read the last one yet. And a book that's told in pictures AND words? That sounds like a ton of fun, girly! Hopefully you get your hands on this one soon... because it sounds rocking awesome! Great pick. :)
