Best of the Bunch - July 2012

Best of the Bunch is a monthly meme hosted by Always Lost in Stories on the last day of every month.
The aim of this meme is to look back over the books we have read and pick a favorite of that month.

July reads:

The Golden Lily (Bloodlines #2) by Richelle Mead ~ 5 stars ~ My review
Once Burned (Night Prince #1) by Jeaniene Frost ~ 5 stars ~ My review.
To Catch A Vampire (A F.R.E.A.K.S. Squad Investigation #2) by Jennifer Harlow ~ 5 stars ~ My review.
Prophecy of the Most Beautiful (Oracle of Delphi #1) by Diantha Jones ~ 4 stars ~ My review.
Fever Moon: The Fear Dorcha by Karen Marie Moning ~ 4 stars ~ My review.
Blood Moon (Drake Chronicles #5) by Alyxandra Harvey ~ 3 stars ~ My review.
Artemis Fowl: The Last Guardian (Artemis Fowl #8) by Eoin Colfer ~ 5 stars ~ My review.
Wake (Watersong #1) by Amanda Hocking ~ 3 stars
Taste by Kate Evangelista ~ 3 stars

My favorite july read was:

Once Burned by Jeaniene Frost
She's a mortal with dark powers...

After a tragic accident scarred her body and destroyed her dreams, Leila never imagined that the worst was still to come: terrifying powers that let her channel electricity and learn a person's darkest secrets through a single touch. Leila is doomed to a life of solitude...until creatures of the night kidnap her, forcing her to reach out with a telepathic distress call to the world's most infamous vampire...

He's the Prince of Night...

Vlad Tepesh inspired the greatest vampire legend of all—but whatever you do, don't call him Dracula. Vlad's ability to control fire makes him one of the most feared vampires in existence, but his enemies have found a new weapon against him—a beautiful mortal with powers to match his own. When Vlad and Leila meet, however, passion ignites between them, threatening to consume them both. It will take everything that they are to stop an enemy intent on bringing them down in flames.

Once Burned by the amazing Jeaniene Frost was BY FAR the best book I've read in july. I've always been a huge fan of Night Huntress so I prepared myself on not to expect too much but it was all I'd hope it would be. Perfection! The Golden Lily by Richelle Mead and Artemis Fowl: The Last Guardian by Eoin Colfer were also amazing, so they're close seconds.

  1. Wow- you read some great books this month! I'm most looking forward to reading Wake and Golden Lily out of that lot.
I have to confess that I haven't read any Jeaniene Frost yet- but I do have Halfway To The Grave on my TBR to read soon.
Thanks for taking part in Best of the Bunch!
