This week's question:
Give us a sneak! What are you reading? Tell us about a fun or fail scene in your current read.
I'm about 30% in of reading Girl With Guitar by Caisey Quinn, which I got for review for the blog tour. I'm so excited for it because so far this book is absolutely awesome. I love it so much, so I hope it keeps up like this. I can't pick a fail because so far nothing from it has failed in my eyes. So I gotta pick a fun scene but it's so hard because there are so many good ones. But I'll try... I was actually in the middle of this scene where Kylie (the MC) is playing cards with the band members and she says something snarky about the blonde chick who's flirting with Trace (Mr. Hot Shot Country Star) which caused the other members of Trace's band to gape at Kylie, so she was like, "Shut up, you were all thinking it", which caused one of the band members to make "the mewling sound of an angry cat". It was just all so funny because it's obvious how jealous Kylie is. Overall this book is so great that I'm actually trying to slow down in reading it because I don't want it to be over this fast.
New Adult. MA 17+ Content.
Expected publication: May 22nd 2013
After Kylie’s dad dies in a freak accident, he leaves her with nothing other than her crazy step-mother, Darla, and the ability to play guitar. When Darla kicks Kylie out and she loses her job all in the same day, she hops a bus to Nashville determined to make her late father’s dreams come true. Waitressing and saving her pennies to record a demo, her big break comes when she’s asked to join a tour going down the tubes with once platinum album-selling country music superstar Trace Corbin. But touring with Trace is hardly a dream come true since he’s pretty much drinking his career down the drain. If Kylie can’t pull Trace out of his rut, he’ll pull her and her dreams down with him.
*COVER COMING MAY 15, 2013!
