When a high-society call girl is murdered in her Georgetown home, investigators find two cameras hidden in the walls of her bedroom. One has its memory erased, presumably by the murderer. The second is connected to the Internet through an encrypted connection...and no-one knows who's on the other end.

Special Agent Allison McNeil is asked by beleaguered FBI Director Clarence Mason to run an off-the-record investigation of the murder. The most direct path to apprehending the killer is to find the videos, but with rumors that the victim's client list may have included Mason's political enemies, Allison worries about the director's motives. As she starts her investigation, she quickly discovers that she's not the only one pursuing the videos. In fact, the most aggressive person racing against her might be the murderer himself.

Killer Pursuit was so damn good! The start was a little slow for me but once I got through the first few chapters, it was hard to stop reading. Also, this isn't a genre I usually read but I was really into the story and pretty much wanted to savor it.

I loved the main character, Allison McNeil. I really did. She's one of those characters I would never ever get sick of reading about. I also enjoyed reading about all the other characters and how they were connected to the story.

This book is a thriller but also a mystery that I wanted to solve for myself. I wanted to know who was behind the murder but it was a big surprised to find out who it was in the end. I actually liked this person so it blew my mind but that's a sign of a very good book!

The writing also was excellent. It was well-written and the author made sure there was enough suspense to keep me on the edge of my seat. 
I feel like I don't have a lot more to add, because I really don't have anything negative to say aside from the slow start. 

I really enjoyed this book and as it's the second book by Jeff Gunhus that I thought was really good, I'm looking forward to reading more by him in the future. I'd definitely recommended this one!

My first thought after finishing The Torment Of Rachel Ames was: Chills. This book gave me chills. And although it wasn't my usual genre, I actually enjoyed it a lot. So if you're on the fence about it, I'd say give it a shot because it's a really good read.

This book is about author Rachel Ames who's struggling with writer's block and rents a lake cabin to work on her next book. Everything seems perfect at first—beautiful location, perfect for writing and a handsome and funny landlord. Then strange and horrible things start happening... 

This story was a bit of a mindfuck, to be honest. I kept guessing of what was actually going on, much like Rachel in the book. Along with her I really wanted to find out what exactly was going on with this cabin. There was even a bit of Stephen King thrown in there, which I really liked.

I really found myself liking the writing style of Jeff Gunhus. That's always a good thing. The book was on the shorter side with 112 pages so it was a really quick read for me but even so it doesn't mean that there isn't enough  of the storyline or character developement in it. 

I also gotta say I was pretty surprised by the turn the book took towards the end. I had a lot of theories, of course but I hadn't seen it coming at all. And that's what I want with books like this, be surprised and The Tormant of Rachel Ames definitely succeeded in that!
