Hi Jenn! Welcome once again on Bookfever for a blogger interview. Here are my questions...

Thank you for having me, Steph! I'm honored to be here.

1. How would you describe Book Bird Reviews in once sentence?

     A book lover's hidey-hole.

2. Do you have a recent read you would recommend?

     I definitely have to pick Wish For Me by A. Star. It was a fun and fast read and it's gotten me interested in steampunk novels.

3. Favorite book blogging moment?

     This is a hard question! I said my interview with Ace Remedy before so another of my favorites was when I received my first review request. I still remember that L.H. Cosway asked me to review her novel, A Strange Fire. It's always an awesome feeling when an author gives you a chance to try their book.

4. Which author (dead or alive) would you love to meet?

     Edgar Allan Poe.

5. What do you like the most about having a book blog?

      I like having my own space, I can post anything I wish and there's no one to tell me it's right or wrong.

6. What upcoming 2015 release are you most excited for?

     Ooh! I'm SUPER excited for Oblivion by Kelly Creagh. It's the final book and I am dying to know how the series will end and I miss Varen so much.

7. Recommend three books

    Nevermore by Kelly Creagh, I love that it's based around Poe's work.

    Red Dragon by Thomas Harris, this is a wicked read and creepier than the Hannibal books to me.

    The Shining by Stephen King, one of my favorite books by Mr. King and spooky good.

Today I have a blogger interview that I did with Christina from Booksane! (you might know her from our co-review of Bound by Flames.)

This interview has been a loooong time coming but we finally got to doing one.

The interview

1. How would you describe Booksane in one sentence?

Just a girl having an outlet for her fangirl moments.

2. Which author (dead or alive) would you love to meet, if possible?

Aw man only one?... uhhh. As you said, Jeaniene Frost. Love her books and yeah gotta explain how awesome that Ian book could be and that it’s very much needed. Maybe a little story with only Bones and Vlad bickering that could be fun, too.

3. What do you like most about reviewing books?

Getting all my thoughts and feelings about a book out. Telling others how amazing this or that book is and just gushing about it or if I didn’t like a book I can still write about why this one didn’t speak to me. People in my life really don’t get the whole book thing so it’s great to have a place to get it out.

4. What upcoming 2015 release are you most excited for?

So far, it gotta be Deep by Kylie Scott. Feel like I’ve been waiting forever for it and it’s even more nerve wracking since it’s the last one so can’t wait to see what will happen. Comes out on my birthday so it’ll be one awesome birthday present I’ll gift myself.

5. Favorite book blogging moment?

Well I always love and go all fangirl if an author comments on something, but recently I really enjoyed our co-review of Bound by Flames, thought that was a lot of fun. Hopefully there’s gonna be a lot more good moments in the future.

6. If you could jump into any book and live in that world, which book would it be?

Okay, so I can right away cross off all the Dystopian books. While they’re awesome, don’t think I’d survive long to be honest, haha. Think I’ll go with Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare. First of all, Victorian London and second Shadowhunters. Wouldn’t mind running into Will, Jem or Tessa and even Magnus.

7. Recommend three books

I’m gonna go with three different ones instead of the usual favorite as The Hunger Games and The Mortal Instruments. So here’s three worth a read.

A Discovery of Witches by Deborah Harkness – Friend got me to read this and really loved it. Witch a Vampire in love which is something I haven’t read before and gotta appreciate all the historical accuracy.

Next, The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern – a truly beautiful book.

Last one, Waterfell by Amalie Howard – Mermaid book with a twist. Surprised me actually.

Hi Kariny and thank you so much for letting me interview you here on Bookfever! Here are my questions...

1. What are you currently reading and what are your feelings about it so far? Or if you're not reading anything at the moment... what do you plan on reading next?

-I'm currently reading an ARC from Netgalley and that's The Thorn And The Sinking Stone by CJ Dushinski. I'm only a chapter in but it's very intriguing, it's got that dark and mysterious factor that makes you want to keep reading! 

2. What inspired you to start your blog?

-I was trying to get my novel published but when you live on an island in the Indian ocean, your publishing opportunities are very limited..So i thought to myself, i have two years left before UNI so why can't i share my thoughts about books with others like me in the meantime? It all started out great but then i realized i wanted to do more. So authors started to send me ARCs and i love participating in tours and things like that because i like helping authors get their work out there! There are so many talented writers and i just want others to see how amazing they are by helping promote their books!

3. What are three books you would recommend?

- Whew narrow it down to 3?? 

1. Obsidian by Jennifer L. Armentrout (I recommend her whole series)!

2. Exaltation by Jamie Magee

3. Serial Hottie by Kelly Oram

4. If you could live in any books, which book would you pick and why?

- I guess it would be in Julie Kagawa's THE IRON FEY SERIES. I'd be living in the Nevernever because it's just the perfect place! There's  danger of course but the way she described it, was so beautiful and magical. The scenery is so vivid and colorful. Definitely somewhere i'd dream of being! Oh and the cute faerie guys that would be roaming around is definitely a plus!

5. What's your all-time favorite book?

-clockwork princess by Cassandra Clare. The emotion in that book was over the edge! And it has one of THE best romance in it!

6. What do you like most about book blogging?

-meeting authors and connecting with other bloggers are the best! When i fangirl about books with my friends they just kinda roll their eyes at me so it's great to be able to share the bookish love with bloggers! And i think getting ARCs is probably one of the best things too :)

7. Which author (dead or alive) would you love to meet, if possible?

-I would definitely say Jennifer L. Armentrout!

What are you reading now and what are your feelings about it?

I'm currently reading Shadowfever by Karen Marie Moning. I love the characters and the action, it's an amazing book.

What's your favorite childhood book?

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone was definitely my favorite.

Favorite and least favorite book you read this year (so far)?

My favorite book so far is Tiger Lily by Jodi Lynn Anderson and least favorite is Bared to You by Sylvia Day.

How do you feel about reading or writing negative reviews?

I'm okay with reading negative reviews as long as it doesn't dissect every single part of a book. Some reviews like to point out small errors or focus on how much they hated a character or their actions or the way the author spins their story. I just remember that everyone has their own opinion and that what one person dislikes another may love.

I know you have a lot but if you had to narrow it down to one, who would be your very favorite book boyfriend? (Yes, I'm evil asking this one ;D)

This question isn't very fair to my other book boyfriends Steph but my favorite would have to be Jem Carstairs.

Favorite book to movie adaptation?

2011 version of Jane Eyre.

If you could ever have lunch with an author of your choice, who would it be and why?

Cassandra Clare because I love her Mortal Instruments and Infernal Devices series. I'd love to ask her about all things Shadowhunter and learn where she gets her ideas from.

Who is your favorite fictional villain?

Captain Hook.

What do you think makes a good book boyfriend?

A good book boyfriend has to be kind, loyal and strong. He must be a one woman kinda guy. He shouldn't take any crap from his girl or anyone else, he has to be proud of who he is and not afraid to show that.

Favorite book blogging moment you had?

I'm sure you can guess that one. My interview with Ace Remedy from the Oracle of Delphi series by Diantha Jones was quite an experience. He enjoyed talking about our secret society of cute bloggers and he was a lot of fun to have on my blog.
