Oh my gosh, I'm so damn excited for this book! Kate Quinn is an insta-buy author for me and The Huntress is definitely in my top 5 of most anticipated books that are releasing in 2019. The Alice Network that was released in 2017 especially made me a big fan of Kate's work and it's still one of my favorite historical fiction books ever so I'm having very high hopes for this new upcoming one. Also, the cover was revealed recently and I really love it. It reminds me of the cover of The Alice Network, which just makes me even more excited to get my hands on The Huntress. Only 6 months to go!

Review: Long May She Reign by Rhiannon Thomas

So I read this book early in August of 2016 and wrote the review around the same time but for some reason I hadn't posted it yet so here it finally is!

Long May She Reign was mediocre at best. The characters were okay to read about, although the main character Freya could be a little boring. But mostly I didn't care much for the story, sadly enough.

This story is about Freya, who's twenty third in line to the throne so she never thought she'd ever become queen until someone poisoned a banquet that kills every person that's in line to the throne before Freya.

It's hard for Freya once she's queen because she has no idea how to act and nobody seems to respect her. But with the help of some friends and her science projects she wants to find the person who killed all those people.

The plot was pretty predictable. I knew fairly early on who the actual killer was so it wasn't a big surprise for me. I also didn't care much for the romance. The one bright spot in this book was Freya's best friend Naomi. She was a total bookworm so of course I adored her.

Overall, Long May She Reign by Rhiannon Thomas wasn't a very remarkable book. In fact, I don't think I'll remember much from the story in a few months. But at least it was a pretty quick read.

Stacking The Shelves: August 11, 2018

First of all... I got a new bunny! Actually my mom got him for me. At first I wasn't sure if I wanted a new bunny so soon after losing my old one. I still miss her so much. But I just couldn't help falling in love with this one and I knew I had to take him home with me. He's still very little but he's already got a feisty personality and he makes me laugh so much. His name is Apollo. ♥

I picked this book because it's one I haven't been able to buy yet. It's not often that I actually purchase nonfiction for myself and I've been wanting to read it for ages. I'm reading it right now and it's super fascinating!
