Can't-Wait Wednesday: Last of Her Name by Jessica Khoury

Can't-Wait Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted at Wishful Endings, to spotlight and talk about the books we're excited about that we have yet to read. It's based on Waiting On Wednesday hosted at Breaking the Spine.

Last of Her Name by Jessica Khoury
Expected publication: February 26th 2019 by Scholastic
Paperbacks

Sixteen years ago, rebellion swept the galaxy known as the Belt of Jewels. Every member of the royal family was murdered--down to their youngest child, Princess Anya--and the Union government rose in its place. But Stacia doesn't think much about politics. She spends her days half-wild, rambling her father's vineyard with her closest friends, Clio and Pol.

That all changes the day a Union ship appears in town, carrying the leader of the Belt himself, the Direktor Eminent. The Direktor claims that Princess Anya is alive, and that Stacia's sleepy village is a den of empire loyalists, intent on hiding her. When Stacia is identified as the lost princess, her provincial home explodes into a nightmare.

Pol smuggles her away to a hidden escape ship in the chaos, leaving Clio in the hands of the Union. With everything she knows threading away into stars, Stacia sets her heart on a single mission. She will find and rescue Clio, even with the whole galaxy on her trail.

I'm really excited for Jessica Khoury's upcoming new book. It releases in February 2019 and then it'll be three years since her previous book (The Forbidden Wish) so no wonder I'm so excited because it's been a while since I read her work. I'm also exctra excited for this book because it is a retelling of Anastasia. YASSSSS! Cannot wait! :D

I have heard great things about The Forbidden Wish, so I think that this new book is going to be just as amazing. The fact that it is an Anastasia retelling is one that has me pumped as well. :)

  16. Oh, Steph, what an AWESOME pick!!!!! I started feeling excited right away as I read the synopsis, because of course I recognized the story of Anastasia, from the Romanov family, the last imperial Russian family. And what a FASCINATING twist this is on the original, sad tale! Science fiction thrown into the mix!! Girl, you SURE know how to pick 'em!! Adding this one to my Goodreads shelves RIGHT AWAY!! :) :) :)

Thanks for commenting on my own CWW post!! HUGS!!! <3 <3 <3 :) :) :)

  17. That's quite a gap between books! I sometimes wonder how authors manage to release a new book every year and it's nice to know some authors are normal people and don't have to publish so frequently :D That's some cover as well!
