Monday Madness: A Year of Ravens: A Novel of Boudica's Rebellion

Monday Madness is a new bookish meme hosted by Bookfever & Booklover's Teaparty

You know that feeling when you feel like you are gonna go mad if you do not get a certain book right away, when you are obsessed and all you want is that one book and you will be happy? That is what Monday Madness is about. All those books you that drive you mad.

Pick a book. Talk about it- why do you want it? What has drawn you to it? Why is it making you mad with want for it?

A Year of Ravens by Ruth Downie, Stephanie Dray, E. Knight, Kate Quinn, Vicky Alvear Shecter, SJA Turney, Russell Whitfield and Ben Kane (introduction)

Published: November 17th 2015 by Knight Media, LLC

Britannia: land of mist and magic clinging to the western edge of the Roman Empire. A red-haired queen named Boudica led her people in a desperate rebellion against the might of Rome, an epic struggle destined to consume heroes and cowards, young and old, Roman and Briton . . . and these are their stories.

A calculating queen foresees the fires of rebellion in a king's death.

A neglected slave girl seizes her own courage as Boudica calls for war.

An idealistic tribune finds manhood in a brutal baptism of blood and slaughter.

A death-haunted Druid challenges the gods themselves to ensure victory for his people.

A conflicted young warrior finds himself torn between loyalties to tribe and to Rome.

An old champion struggles for everlasting glory in the final battle against the legions.

A pair of fiery princesses fight to salvage the pieces of their mother’s dream as the ravens circle.

A novel in seven parts, overlapping stories of warriors and peacemakers, queens and slaves, Romans and Britons who cross paths during Boudica’s epic rebellion. But who will survive to see the dawn of a new Britannia, and who will fall to feed the ravens?

So I've had this book since back in November when it first came out and every since I knew about this book coming out I promised myself I would read it right away but alas... other books (mostly review copies) came in my way and I didn't end up reading it. But now that it's 2016, I definitely want to get to it soon. I'm pretty certain it will blow my mind like A Day of Fire did. A Year of Ravens is similar to it, it just has two new authors joining in. I looooove history so I'm freaking excited to start it. Hopefully soon there won't be any other books in my way so I can finally get started on this baby!

Also, don't forget to check out Christina's post to find out which book she's featuring!

  1. I've only read one series dealing with Boudica's rebellion and ancient Britanica, but I did enjoy it. I'm quite the history buff, so I'm sure I'll love this one too. Thanks for pointing me toward it!
